These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Stack, operated by Amar, trading as Stack ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account and using Stack, you agree to these Terms.

1. What Stack is — and isn't

Stack is a personal finance tracking application. It helps you:

Track and visualise your assets and wealth across multiple accounts
Set and monitor financial goals over different time horizons
Receive AI-generated insights about your portfolio
Compare your progress anonymously with similar users

Stack is not a financial adviser. Nothing on Stack constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. AI-generated insights are informational only and should not be the sole basis for any financial decision. Always consult a qualified professional before making investment decisions.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Stack. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

3. Your account

You are responsible for:

Keeping your password secure and confidential
All activity that occurs under your account
Notifying us immediately of any unauthorised access at teamstackapp@gmail.com

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Open Banking connections

When you connect a bank account, you authorise Stack to access read-only data (balances and transactions) via FCA-authorised Open Banking providers. You can revoke this access at any time. Stack will never initiate payments or transfers from your accounts.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use Stack for any unlawful purpose
Attempt to access other users' data
Reverse engineer or attempt to extract Stack's source code
Use automated tools to scrape or access Stack at scale
Provide false information that may affect community benchmark data

6. Intellectual property

Stack and all its content, features, and functionality are owned by Amar, trading as Stack. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of Stack without our express written permission.

Your data remains yours. We do not claim ownership of the financial data you enter.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Stack shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to financial losses resulting from decisions made based on Stack's insights or data.

Stack is provided "as is" during the beta period. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access or that the service will be error-free.

8. Data and privacy

Your use of Stack is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

9. Changes to the service

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of Stack at any time, particularly during the beta period. We will provide reasonable notice of significant changes where possible.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email. Continued use of Stack after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
